The department trains specialists in speciality “Chemical Technology of Inorganic Substances, Materials and Goods”, in specialization of Glass and Ceramic Technology. Also special emphasis is given on manufacturing and plant level aspects regarding technology of fine functional and building ceramics, technology of enamels and protective coatings, chemical technology of refractory materials.An in depth education covering the full spectrum of science and engineering of glass and ceramic materialsis being delivered by the teaching staff that works on qualification up-grade and trains highly qualified specialists through Bachelor’s degree course.The department delivers courses of lectures in Technology and Equipment for Glassware Production and Technology and Equipment for Ceramic Articles Production with the academic program involves traditional glass/ceramics. Information technologies with the use of multimedia systems for lectures and application software are widely used at the lessons.The students graduating from department are technically competent and are ready for rendering service to industry and academic institutions.
