Electrical Engineering

Department of Electrical Engineering is one of the pioneering departments of the Institute. Over the years, the department has progressed at a rapid pace with development in both the spheres of infrastructure facilities and academic programmes. The department has highly qualified faculty members engaged in teaching and research in the field of Electrical Engineering. The department is equipped with MATLAB and Power Factory Software and total 10 Industrial Standard Laboratories such as High Voltage Lab, Automation Lab, Power Electronics Lab, Measurement Lab, Electrical Drives Lab etc The department regularly conducts Expert Lectures / Seminars / Workshops / Technical paper contests for the benefit of both faculties and student community. The consultancy services are also rendered by the department.


To attain global recognition in the field of Electrical Engineering and to provide excellent education for grooming students as competent professionals to take leadership positions in industry and come out with solutions for society challenges.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs):
  • To develop graduates having enhanced analytical skills to solve complex electrical engineering problems.
  • To develop engineers with theoretical knowledge & practical skills to succeed in industry, entrepreneurs, excel in higher studies and emerge as academicians in field of Electrical Engineering.
  • To transform graduates to become a competent practicing electrical engineer through continuous interaction between industry – academia.
  • To inculcate in graduates an attitude for life- long learning process.
  • To develop in graduates the qualities like creativity, leadership, team work and professional ethics, thus contributing towards the growth and development of society.
Program Outcomes (POs):
  • An ability to apply knowledge of Mathematics, Science and Basic Engineering to the solution for complex electrical engineering problems
  • An ability to design and conduct electrical engineering experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret the data.
  • An ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability and sustainability.
  • An ability of identify and formulate solutions for engineering problems and perform investigations of the results to provide appropriate conclusions.
  • An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for electrical engineering practices.
  • Achieve broad education necessary to understand the impact of electrical engineering solutions in global, economical, environment, and societal context.
  • An ability to understand the impact of electrical engineering solutions and demonstrate professional skills and contextual reasoning to assess environmental/societal issues for sustainable development.

  • To clearly understand the concepts and application in the field of Electrical Engineering as per standards used in various courses to arrive at solutions to real world problems.
  • To develop the capability to comprehend the technological advancements in the usage of modern design tools to analyses and design Electrical Engineering systems/processes for the various applications.
