Institution of Engineers (IEI), India is the largest multidisciplinary professional
body of engineers in India. The Institution functions amongst professional engineers,
academicians and research scientists and provides a vast array of technical, professional
and supporting services to government, industry and academia as well as to the engineering
fraternity.
IEI Student Chapter has been established in Department of Mechanical Engineering,
SRICT, Vataria in April, 2017 for enhancement of student’s technical knowledge and
skills and also for creating awareness about the career opportunities & challenges
in technical educations.
A variety of technical activities such as seminars, industrial visits, group discussions,
technical quiz competitions, workshops, model/poster competition, etc are conducted
throughout the year for student’s betterment under the banner of IEI Student Chapter.
As of now, 103 Students have already become the IEI student chapter member.
The following activities have been carried out by Department of Mechanical Engineering,
SRICT, Vataria under IEI Student chapter.
- An “Inauguration function” of Institution of Engineers (India), Mechanical Engineering
student chapter at Shroff S. R. Rotary Institute of Chemical Technology on Wednesday,
12th April, 2017.
- Seminar on “Entrepreneurship awareness” on Saturday, 5th August, 2017 in association
with “Centre for Entrepreneurship Development” (CED), Government of Gujarat with
an aim at creating awareness and guidance among students about various aspects of
entrepreneurship while highlighting the merits of pursuing such a career option.
- One day workshop on “Modeling in Solidworks” on Friday, 22nd September, 2017 with
an aim at creating awareness of SolidWorks Essential, Part Modeling, Assembly and
Drawing Views.
- One day workshop on “Advanced modeling in Solidworks” on Tuesday, 30th January,
2018 with an aim at creating awareness of SolidWorks Essential, Part Modeling, advanced
assembly and Drawing Views.
- Workshop on “Exposure on Non- destructive test (NDT)” on Monday, 26th February,
2018 with an aim to imparting practical knowledge of NDT.
