100 Points Activity
Introduction
In 2015, GTU started a scheme to cultivate versatility among students.
Under this scheme, minimum100 points to be earned by students under different curricular activities. Activities must be selected from GTU prescribed activity-point table.
It is apart from academic but as important as academics.
It is mandatory additional requirement for earning BE Degree.
The GTU is the first university in India to implement such system.
Importance of 100 Activity Points
To achieve objectives like soft skills, team work, leadership qualities and entrepreneurial skill this program has been intended by GTU.
Industry needs professionals:-
Who can work successfully in teams.
Who have leadership qualities.
Who are alive to social and community needs.
Who can bring innovation and creativity to their work.
Hence, in order to prepare the students to match these multifarious requirements, GTU has created a unique mechanism of awarding 100 Activity Points over and above the academic grades.
To whom it applies!
An undergraduate Engineering student must earn the following minimum activity points as per the level of Entry in the B.E. Course as shown in Table-I.
Teaching Scheme
Subject Name: Activity Points
Subject Code: 1880001
Student's Role
Every student shall participate in the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities as prescribed in Activity-Point table made by GTU.
They have to produce documentary proof to the designated Faculty Member appointed by the Head of Department / Principal / Director in the respective college.
Every studentis required to prepare a file containing documentary proofs of activities, done by him/her.
It is compulsory for every student to prepare five minutes of presentation for activities carried out during current semester.
Evaluation Scheme
This file will be duly verified and Activity Points will be assigned by a Board of two Examiners to be appointed by the University, at the end of every Semester, after conducting the Viva Examination.
The above Board of Examiners will discuss and finalize the Activity Points for each student.
They will be entering points into the Online Point Entry System (at the URL, as specified by the University)
There will not be neither grades / marks nor there do any effect on SPI/CPI/CGPA.
Absenteeism at the Viva examination for Activity Points at the end-semester examination will lead to zero accretion to the Activity Points, earned by the student.
Every student has to earn at least 100 activity points. The points students has earned will be reflected in the student’s transcript.
