Ashok Panjwani is a Chemical Engineer graduated from Institute of Chemical Technology , Mumbai in the year 1972. He has over 44 years of industrial experience with reputed agro Chemicalcompanies like Gharda Chemicals Ltd., Gujarat Insecticides Ltd., and presently UPL Ltd. as Executive Director.

As Director, Panjwani is heading various environment and consultancy group companies of UPL Limited like Bharuch Enviro Infrastructure Ltd, Enviro Technology Ltd, Kerala Enviro Infrastructure Ltd, Shivalik Solid Waste Management Ltd & BEIL Research & Consultancy Pvt Ltd.

Ashok also holds Directorship of M/s. Narmada Clean Tech &Ankleshwar Research & Analytical Infrastructure Ltd.

He is Life Member of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers and was President in 1996. During his Presidentship, Mr. Panjwani chalked out several measures to improve overall activities and effectiveness of this institution. Under his leadership the Annual Congress (CHEMCON-96) was organized successfully at GNFC Bharuch. He is also the founder member and Chairman of its Ankleshwar Regional Centre.

Ashok Panjwani has been honored with UAA Distinguished Alumnus Award 2010 for professional excellence by Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai. During the year 2008, he was awarded for the Best Chief Executive Officer, by South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Surat. Ashok is also the recipient of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers LalaShriram National Award for the year 2012 for Leadership in Chemical Industry and for “Dr. B.P. Godrej Lifetime Achievement Award” by Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers in the year 2015.

At present Ashok Panjwani is working on his Dream Project i.e Shroff S.R. Rotary Institute of Chemical Technology (SRICT) at Ankleshwar, promoted by Rotary Club of Ankleshwar, UPL Limited and other industries with an investment of Rs. 45 crores. This institute has started functioning in the month of July 2011 and has made remarkable progress in last 5 years.

Ashok is an active Rotarian, held many positions at Rotary Club of Ankleshwar and R.I. District 3060 levels.

He is the Past District Governor (2007-08) of Rotary International District 3060.

He has been awarded the most prestigious award of Rotary International – “Service Above Self” in the year 2000 and ‘Meritorious Service Award’ by The Rotary Foundation in the year 2008 and Distinguished Service Award by The Rotary Foundation in the year 2014. Ashok is also recipient of Rotary International’s Regional Service Award for a Polio Free World for 2014-2015, in recognition of his contribution to the Polio Eradication program in India.

During the year 2010-11, he was District Trainer & District Rotary Foundation Committee Chair (DRFC) for the years 2011 to 2016 of RI Dist. 3060.Ashok has served as Assistant Rotary Coordinator for the year 2011 to 2014 for the zone IV.

R.I Trustee Chair -2016-17 Kalyan Banerjee has appointed MrPanjwani as Endowment / Major Gifts Adviser (EMGA) for the years 2016 to 2019 for Zone IV & VI A.

He is Member of Institution of Engineers (India), Calcutta & Institution of Chemical Engineers, U.K. His areas of interest include environment, community services etc.

Ashok is happily married to Meera, an active Rotarian, Past President of Rotary Club of Ankleshwar, Assistant Governor (2015-16) and District Secretary (2016-17). She is also Past District Chairman of Inner Wheel Dist.306 and Past President of Inner Wheel Club of Ankleshwar. They are blessed with two daughters. The elder one Dr.Pinky, Ph.D in Chemical Engineering is Senior Director of Pfizer Ltd, in London. She is married to Dr.Vivek – Senior lecturer at University College of London, U.K. They are blessed with a son – Aditya. The younger one Kajal is Interior Designer, working at Bangalore and married to Avinash – Manager, working at KPMG, Bangalore.
