100 Points Activity

  1. Introduction
    • In 2015, GTU started a scheme to cultivate versatility among students.
    • Under this scheme, minimum100 points to be earned by students under different curricular activities. Activities must be selected from GTU prescribed activity-point table.
    • It is apart from academic but as important as academics.
    • It is mandatory additional requirement for earning BE Degree.
    • The GTU is the first university in India to implement such system.
  2. Importance of 100 Activity Points
    • To achieve objectives like soft skills, team work, leadership qualities and entrepreneurial skill this program has been intended by GTU.
    • Industry needs professionals:-
      • Who can work successfully in teams.
      • Who have leadership qualities.
      • Who are alive to social and community needs.
      • Who can bring innovation and creativity to their work.
    • Hence, in order to prepare the students to match these multifarious requirements, GTU has created a unique mechanism of awarding 100 Activity Points over and above the academic grades.
  3. To whom it applies!
    • An undergraduate Engineering student must earn the following minimum activity points as per the level of Entry in the B.E. Course as shown in Table-I.

  5. Student's Role
    • Every student shall participate in the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities as prescribed in Activity-Point table made by GTU.
    • They have to produce documentary proof to the designated Faculty Member appointed by the Head of Department / Principal / Director in the respective college.
    • Every studentis required to prepare a file containing documentary proofs of activities, done by him/her.
    • It is compulsory for every student to prepare five minutes of presentation for activities carried out during current semester.
  6. Evaluation Scheme
    • This file will be duly verified and Activity Points will be assigned by a Board of two Examiners to be appointed by the University, at the end of every Semester, after conducting the Viva Examination.
    • The above Board of Examiners will discuss and finalize the Activity Points for each student.
    • They will be entering points into the Online Point Entry System (at the URL, as specified by the University)
    • There will not be neither grades / marks nor there do any effect on SPI/CPI/CGPA.
    • Absenteeism at the Viva examination for Activity Points at the end-semester examination will lead to zero accretion to the Activity Points, earned by the student.
    • Every student has to earn at least 100 activity points. The points students has earned will be reflected in the student’s transcript.
